Kent-Moore CH-49824 Steering Linkage Separator
The Kent-Moore CH-49824 Steering Linkage Separator is a tool that can be used to separate the Pitman Arm from the relay rod. The CH-49824 tool is used with the J-24420-C and the J-24319-B. The plate from the CH-49824 is placed over the relay Rod to capture the Bushing and prevent it from moving
The heavy-duty relay rod has a bushing, which will not allow the use of previously Essential J-24319-B during service. The heavy-duty relay rod with a bushing must be separated using CH-49824 and previously Essential J-24420-C.
To separate the Pitman arm from the relay rod, the plate from CH-49824 is placed over the top of the relay rod to capture the bushing, preventing it from moving. The bolts from CH-49824 attach J-24420-C to the plate over the relay rod. The forcing screw of J-24420-C is tightened against the Pitman arm stud to separate the stud from the relay rod.
